Celebrate Independence!

Well it's now July. How has your summer been so far? As you read this I know you are making plans for your weekend. Whether you're leaving town or staying near home please celebrate safely.

I will be heading to Florida with my family. We are headed to Daytona and then Cocoa Beach for a little over a week.

This puts me out of town for Franklin's BIG Independence Celebration. A full day that always entertains young and old. So much happening in one jam packed day of patriotism in our mountain town of Franklin.

If you get photos of the different events over the next couple of weekends submit some of them to me digitally and I will post them on the community gallery when I return. You can email them to me at submit@mytownfranklin.com. And if you like, you can write me up a brief article I can publish for you. Don't forget to include a website address I can link a banner ad to as my thank you to you for the article.

Veterans Memorial Dedication
Make sure you pencil in the time to be down at the Veterans Memorial at 11:30 PM on Saturday, July 4th. Located next to the community building this dedication is scheduled to have a flyer over by the U.S. Air Force. It's a beautiful memorial. We can always use donations so go visit the website, get the mailing address, and get a check out to support other features that still need completing.

Fireworks, parades and so... much... more!
